Chapter Five

It seems that the relationship between Calpurnia and Granddaddy continues to evolve.  What evidence of that do you see?  Why do you think it's occurring?

  1. I think that you can see that grandfather and Calpurnia are starting to form a relationship because grandfather has been being very nice to Calpurnia and they seem to get each other very well. I think it is happening because they have been spending so much time together and learning things about each other and they can trust each other and they share the same interests.

  2. I think that there relationship is growing. Some of the evidence that I found is that they both like finding bugs, plants, and animals. I think that this is occurring because they realized that they had some stuff in common.

  3. I think that Calpurnia's relationship with grandfather has grown a lot mainly due to the fact that Calpurnia has begun to getting into the study of nature. One example of evidence from the text to support this is that when Calpurnia and grandfather went out to catch bugs, they were both interested for the most part in what they found.

  4. The evidence I see in how the relationship between Calpurnia and her grandfather is that they share a love for nature and being a naturalist. They like looking at how animals act and what they have on their bodies that humans or other animals don't have. I think that this will go on because that they have so much in common.

  5. I think that the relationship between Calpurnia and her grandfather is growing. The evidence of this is the fact that Calpurnia spends a lot of time in his lab and he saves her life by helping her not choke on his concoction of pecans.
