On page 196, Callie thinks, "I could ask Granddaddy his thoughts about it [coming out]. But then I realized I didn't need to. I could just imagine his opinion on the matter."
What would you expect his opinion to be on this matter?
What do you think Callie will decide about it? Why?
I would expect that Grandaddy would not like this considering the fact that he would like her to grow up to be a naturalist and I don't think he would approve of her running around in a fancy dress.
ReplyDeleteYou didn't fully answer the question, Angus.
ReplyDeleteI would expect that granddaddy wouldn't like the fact that she is growing up and trying to be the best naturalist that she could possibly be. I think that Calpurnia will decide to not ask because she can imagine his thoughts when she comes out.
ReplyDeleteI think that granddaddy's response would be to either, a) follow her heart and chose her own path, or b)become a naturalist and follow the path of science and possibly make extraordinary breakthroughs. I think that Callie will go down the path of science and naturalism because it is what makes her happy.
ReplyDeleteI think her granddaddy would tell her that is is her own life and that she has her own choices to make. And I think more that Callie would choose to lean about being a naturist but I also think that she might come out because it would make her mom proud because she didn't have chance herself to come out and she really wants Callie too.
ReplyDeletei think that grandfather will tell her not to because he wants her to become a naturalist and that she would be missing out on a great opportunity. I also agree with Shaina. I think grandfather would tell her that it is her life and she has to make decisions, but he would really want Calpurnia to be a naturalist. I think she would want to be a naturalist because she had been working for it for a long time.
