Chapter Twelve
On page 179, Granddaddy said, "Let us cast some light in the shadowy corners of Terra Incognita. Let us hold high the lamp of knowledge and expungeanother dragon from the map." What did he mean by that?
Think about what "expunge" means, and then consider that dragons are not real, although once upon a time, there were some people who thought they were real, until others proved them wrong.
I get it. Expunge means erase or remove completely (something unwanted or unpleasant). Dragons are a myth that some people believe. The quote means that since they found a new species of vetch they are proving something wrong and expunging the "dragon".
I am confused about what a "dragon" is.
